Prime Minister's talk with MDIMF, assurance of implementation of conditions


Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif says that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) team will come to Pakistan in a few days, and has assured the IMF to follow the conditions.


He said that he has told the IMF that because of poverty, they cannot tax people anymore, they will tax the rich.


Shahbaz Sharif said that he had a conversation with the IMF MD in which he asked him to send his delegation to Pakistan to complete the ninth review so that the next installment can be received. According to Shehbaz Sharif, MDIMF said that they understand the difficulty of Pakistan.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of Hazara Electric Supply Company, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the director of IMF received a call last night. He asked how are your relations with China and Saudi Arabia. I replied that we have good relations with both countries, China stands with Pakistan, the Prime Minister of China said that Pakistan is our long time friend, we are improving our relations with other countries as well.

In this regard, the Prime Minister's Office says that there has been a telephone conversation between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (MDIMF) Kristalina Georgieva.


According to the announcement issued by the Prime Minister's Office, MDIMF called Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and expressed his sympathy for the loss of life and property in the flood.


According to the Prime Minister's Office, MDIMF reiterated its commitment to help Pakistan in difficult times.


According to the statement, during the conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked MDIMF for its concern over the flood damage and also invited them to attend the Geneva-based Pakistan Conference.
